VMSF Deckhand Training Program
The Deckhand Training Program is aimed at fostering an alternative pathway to careers in the Maritime industry. The opportunity is available for individuals who identify as BIPOC and/or who identify with being from a historically underrepresented marginalized group. Trainees undergo comprehensive training, with hands-on experience focusing on deckhand skills for supporting crew on Tugboats. Essential equipment and financial support to obtain all necessary working permits and licenses will be provided by the VMS Foundation. It's our mission to provide a pathway for historically underrepresented youth and young people to have access and succeed in a maritime career.
